Stefan Hickmott - Founder and CEO

 

Evarei was founded in 2015 by Stefan Hickmott following significant regional sentiment among major groups for disciplined, competent asset management services in the region. Stefan has senior professional expertise and experience spanning more than 24-years in the private equity, investment, advisory and management consulting sectors, specializing in hospitality, leisure and real estate, and was the former vice president of investment for real estate and hospitality projects at former private equity firm The Abraaj Group in Dubai, UAE (2004-2009).

 

Stefan has considerable expertise as a principal in the direct investment space and has developed a successful track record in deploying capital into well-structured, risk-adjusted investment opportunities with clear growth and exit potential. He has, during his career, been instrumental in the investment and planning of a number of major hospitality and real estate development projects spanning the past 3 decades, having managed more than 500 advisory, planning, feasibility assessment, business valuation, asset management and investment projects covering a wide spectrum of real estate, hospitality and leisure businesses and operations totalling more than USD 20 billion in  value.

Mark Wilson - Principal of Investments

 

Mark takes a lead role in the sourcing, evaluation, due diligence, execution and management of Evarei's advisory projects and direct investments.

 

He has over 13-years' professional experience in corporate finance advisory, corporate development and asset management. He has worked as the Senior Equities Associate at Majid Al Futtaim Trust responsible for an internal equity portfolio, fund manager due diligence and selection, and asset allocation within the private and public equities fund manager space. He was previously an Associate Director with Julius Bär's Client Advisory Group (CAG) in Dubai as a buy-side equities analyst for the ONYX MENA Fund, an absolute return fund advised by Julius Bär CAG and managed by Blackpearl Capital. 

 

Within corporate finance/development, he was the Senior Investment Analyst within acquisitions and investments-based business development at a subsidiary of Qatar Holding, one of the operating arms of the Qatar Investment Authority targeting the consumer food and agribusiness sector, and prior to moving the GCC, he spent four and a half years with HSBC’s Investment Banking division in London working on corporate finance advisory mandates covering debt finance advisory, equity raisings and mergers and acquisitions, primarily within the consumer, leisure and retail sector coverage team. He holds a Master’s of Science in International Business from the University of Groningen and a Bachelor’s of Commerce & Finance from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto.

 

Director of Finance and Administration

 

Evarei's associate director of finance and administration has ultimate responsibility over the professional organization, execution and management of Evarei's finances, operations and all operational aspects, including human capital and regulatory reporting and adherence. 

 

Evarei's finance director is a UK-qualified Chartered Certified Accountant with over 17-years professional experience which has involved holding a range of senior positions with leading global institutions involving multiple finance and administration functions. They have attained significant expertise in real estate project and investment fund asset management and accounting, having worked with leading, global real estate investment and private equity firms including Pradera European Real Estate Fund, AIG Global Real Estate Investment, Tishman Speyer Properties, Istithmar, NBD Sana Capital Limited and, immediately prior to 2015, Emirates REIT (CEIC) Limited.

 

Evarei's finance director has wide ranging international investment funds-related expertise accumulated through her roles and responsibilities with private equity funds and real estate funds operating out of London, the Cayman Islands, Luxembourg, New York and Dubai. Prior to focussing more on real estate funds and private equity funds however, they held various finance positions in the hospitality sector with Marriott Group and the media sector with Sportsworld Media Group, where she garnered important operational experience at a single-asset and group level. Prior to moving to Dubai in 2007, they were based in London. Evarei's finance director was appointed a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accounts in March, 2008.

Evarei also engages an associate team of more than 20 leading professionals from the MENA region and elsewhere to apply specific skill sets and expertise on a bespoke level, tailored to the needs and objectives of clients - from human resource planning and recruitment, through to specific M&A and business enhancement initiatives
